Materials: baby doll, bowl of fruit, picture or small adult dolls, picture of a beautiful garden, words written on card “spiritual death,” a Bible, picture of a heart, cross, click to download God Loves You gospel tracts
PREP
- Gather all of the materials.
- God Loves You gospel tracts
- Number items, but not in the order of the telling of the gospel.
- Lay out items.
- Where will it be most fun for your family?
- Inside, outside – what about going to a park?
- How much leeway will you give children in their description of how each item fits to the story. Look at cheat sheet on page 2
- If your children have been through the God Loves You gospel tract, do not give them tracts until after they have played the game.
- If your children have not been through the tract give them each a tract.
- Explain to the children that they are going to go on a scavenger hunt for items that pertain to the gospel message.
- Give every child a sheet of paper on which to write down what they find, along with a pencil.
- Explain how the game is played.
- They will go out and search as individuals.
- They are to find items that relate to the gospel story.
- They are to write each item down. Tell them: “DO NOT TAKE THE ITEM.”
- When they find everything, they return.
- Each child lists each item according to the order it fits in the story.
- Do not help them – unless a younger child needs a scribe.
- When they finish with their lists tell them the correct order.
- Have them take turns telling you how each item fits into the gospel story.

Psalm 139:13-16 – you may want to read the whole chapter or tell your child(ren) what it says - Adult male, Adult woman – God created Adam and Eve
Genesis 1:27; 2:18-23 - Picture of a beautiful garden – God placed Adam and Eve in a beautiful garden.
Genesis 2: 8 & 9 & 15 - Bowl of fruit or a tree – Adam and Eve were given only one rule: they were not to eat of one
tree.
Genesis 2:15-17 - Spiritual Death – total separation from God, from anything good.

able to get it).
Psalm 119 - Picture of a heart – Jesus loves us. (Could be placed anywhere, because it has been and
always will be true.
John 3:16 - Cross – Jesus paid the price for our sin, so we don’t have to be separated from God.
