LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!!!
On the weeks when there is no Day Camp there is still plenty happening.
Day Trips:
Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Skate Park, Beach Day — what do you have in your backyard?
These trips are for fun, building relationships and teaching kids that no matter where they are they are representing Jesus Christ.
I will never forget being at Disneyland when a man approached a sixth grader and asked him, “What is Prime Time?” (the inscription on the t-shirts and the name of the church’s’ Children’s Ministry). Without hesitating the kid responded, “It is the most important time of our week because it is when we are learning about Jesus.” I stood behind them and shouted within me to the Lord, “YES! YES!”
Are you thinking intentionally about everything you do with your kids? Are you preparing them, training them to think strategically also? Are they learning that Biblical truths aren’t just relevant on Sunday morning but in everything they do?
Crazy Game Day:
A laid back day of games. A time for kids to be kids.
I love watching them pour out of the cars with an air of excitement. The church facility is becoming their second home — there is a comfortableness about being here.
The Senior Pastor wanders out in the midst of Capture the Flag and stirs things up. The kids who were at Day Camp last week are use to him wandering in and out and greet him with, “Hey Pastor Ted play on our team.” What do you think that does to the kids feeling of belonging?
Mommy and Me:
An opportunity for preschoolers and moms to have fun together on the church campus.
- A time to become comfortable on the campus of the church, to feel special.
- A time for young moms to connect with one another.
- An opportunity for older women to minister and interact alongside of younger moms and their children – hopefully rubbing off some of their wisdom.
Preschool Mornings:
A time for preschoolers to be dropped off to enjoy an intentional time of play and learning about Jesus.
- Filling up their feeling bank with with warmth, a sense of security, receiving love – the church, an essential place to be.
- Building relationships with other children with whom they will travel through their childhood.
- Giving mom a free morning to do whatever.
Family Festivals:
Usually held Saturday evenings
- A time of celebration, games, togetherness.
- Building memories and relationships to last a life time – leading to the ultimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Growing relationships among young families in the Body of Christ.
- A great time for Pastors and Elders to participate and get to know these young families.
